Kelly and Tweeters,

March 2 is an extremely early arrival date for Ospreys in WA.
However, late March is not. Many Ospreys return to their nest sites,
both east and west of the Cascades, before the end of March. Even
on Vancouver Island, some return in the last week of March.

BIRDS OF WASHINGTON shows Ospreys occurring regularly in
western Washington from the middle of March onward, and a bit
later in eastern Washington.

Wow. March 2 and an osprey is at its nest site, apparently. That's an early
arrival. I know I asked people, perhaps a year ago, to report early
sightings of osprey here in the northern country and I don't think there
were very many March sightings. I, for one, would be interested in other
sightings of osprey in March.

I saw my first OSPREY of the year on the side of hwy. 12 near Elma. It
looked very relaxed and sported a fine tan from all that time in Califonia.
