hey tweeters
I'm leaning more towards the Coopers hawk instead of the Peregrine. The way
the pigeon's wings were left on the ground is something i see when a coopers
hawk caches its prey. I also usually see the feathers left near the
wings, and occasionally (when i find the remains) the hawk f in a nearby
tree eating parts of the victim. A couple more reasons I think it was a
Coopers are because the sharp shinned is to small to take down a pigeon and
the Peregrine prefers to catch its prey while its flying, that's not to say
it wouldn't go for something on the ground.
thank you to everyone who responded to my "owls at interlaken" topic

Good Birding!
P.S. anyone else here coming to the owl walk at Lincoln park?
