Spent a couple of hours this afternoon at the Goodrich pond and trail.
The pond is about half full now, but not much there. A couple of
Buffleheads, 4 Northern Pintails and no shorebirds. In the river there
were 2 Lesser Scaup, 1 Common Merganser, and 10 Ring-necked Ducks. The
same raptors are still around, 2 Bald Eagles, 2 American Kestrels, 2
Northern Harriers, 1 Red-tailed Hawk, and one surprise, a Peregrine
Falcon. It was also a steller day for the Steller's Jay. Had at least
twenty. Other birds seen were 3 Pine Siskin, 1 Scrub Jay, 2
Golden-crowned Sparrows, and 7 Western Meadowlarks.
