Subject: [Tweeters] Grant County Lapland Longspurs 3/3

Hi Tweets,

I spent the day cruising around the upper Grand Coulee area (Grand Coulee,
Coulee Dam, Electric City, Banks Lake).
Three Lapland Longspurs were running with a large group of Horned Larks
along SR-155 just south of Electric City. The larks seemed to favor a disked
up stubble field on the east side of the road in an area called North Shore
Properties (or some similar thing). They also flew across the road at one
point and began feeding in a mowed strip along the western edge of the road.
A few other birds of note included an early Loggerhead Shrike near Blue
Lake singing in the Sage, several Prairie Falcons in a variety of locations,
two lingering Least Sandpipers at Soap Lake, and a pair of Hairy Woodpeckers
exploring a cavity at the Osborn Bay WDFW site along Banks Lake.

Cheers
