the unusual siskin has remained somewhere along the porch railing since
mid-day, and is now preening underneath the black-oil sunflower feeder.
when he wasn't perched near the water, he was chowing down pretty good on
niger or the sunflowers... at the moment, it looks like he's ready to camp
out on the spot...

not sure what the problem is (if any), but i've seen where looks like he's
having a fit for about 5 seconds (his whole body gets into the act), and if
you look closely you can count his respiration rate...

in addition to his enormous size (relative the other siskins), it almost
looks like he's got a hunchback...

... one siskin in particular is quite unusual: he's almost twice the
girth of the others. he holds his left wing a little askew, even when
feeding, but doesn't appear to be disabled "enough" not to fly or fend for
himself. he's quite feisty when someone feeds close-by...
