Hi All,

It pays to run into the SULLIVANS while birding! Yesterday Curt & Bobby Pearson & Delia & I ran into them at Bottle Beach. Not only did they show us a nearby female Cinnamon Teal that they reported yesterday and we NEVER EVER would have noticed, they suggested a place on Midway (east on Warrenton Cannery Rd south of Midway) for SNOWY PLOVERS which turned up about three. ( I guess when reporting locations of Snowy Plovers, it?s important to mention that this species especially shouldn?t be stressed, setting up a scope is a good way to look for them. Of course, pickup trucks roaring around at 40 mph aren?t helping either, I pray for a day when I can go to a southwest WA beach and not worry that me, my companions or an endangered bird will end up being roadkill). Patrick Sullivan also suggested we check John?s River for the WHITE-TAILED KITE and that worked out well as we saw one bird there at dusk. A lone GREATER YELLOWLEGS was working the river.

Meanwhile the YARDBIRDRACE is heating up with with PENNY ROSE at 32 in R West Seattle already having both LINCOLN & FOX SPARROWS. JOHN TUBBS was adding a WILSON?S SNIPE to be at 44 in Kirkland Acreage (a working yard) and RYAN MERRILL yardbirdracing a freshwater W yard in Kirland a t53 already including HERRING GULL & REDHEAD, although he still has no BLUE-FOOTED BOOBY.
