Hi Tweeters,

Yesterday I had a bit of time after an appointment to
so some birding in Kent. After Frager Rd, N of 212th
bends there is a long straightaway that I presume is
another road name but I'm not sure what it is. Lot of
flooded fields filled with waterfowl. I counted at
least 7 Eurasian Wigeon. Some were calling and when I
was watching them display and call I noticed their
bill was open for a noticable amount of time before I
heard their call. I wonder if they make a noise
outside our hearing range before we hear the Wheee
sound. I did try to locate female Eurasian Wigeons
and think I have a bit of a feel for them now. Also
notable here was 2 far off Dowitchers that made me do
double take after first thinking they were Dunlin.

At Lake Fenwick Park at the Disc Golf area were some
Hairy Woodpeckers courting far up in the canyon. They
have their own unique weird woodpecker sounds. The
Brown Creepers were singing, and a possible Rufous
Hummingbird was in the area but I couldn't get a good
look at it.
