Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday March 8. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

The Eugene FALCATED DUCK and the Alvadore SUMMER TANAGER continue to be
seen. A number of dead HORNED PUFFINS were reported during the week from
Oregon beaches. On march 4 a live HORNED PUFFIN was just offshore at Tierra
Del Mar. On March 7 a probable RED-LEGGED KITTIWAKE was seen among a swarm
of BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES at the mouth of the Columbia River. A dead
THICK-BILLED MURRE was on Clatsop Beach March 5. A possible THICK-BILLED
was seen March 6 flying just offshore south of Cannon Beach.

On March 7 a WHITE-WINGED DOVE was seen at the Canby feeder hosting the
wintering HARRIS?S SPARROW. Southwest of Eugene the Lorane Hwy BROWN
THRASHER was seen again March 6. The Meares Lake TUFTED DUCK continues to be
seen.

A conspicuous movement of TURKEY VULTURES is now being seen in southwestern
Oregon. One was at Bend March 5. RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS west of the Cascades
have reached Portland and are now moving into Washington. An ALLEN?S
HUMMINGBIRD was at Brookings March 3.

A SAY?S PHOEBE was at Coquille March 3. Single dead TUFTED PUFFINS were
found March 2 on Baker Beach, north of Florence, and on Clatsop Beach.

On March 6 a EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL was along Rentenaar Road on Sauvie
Island. Many SNOW GEESE and SANDHILL CRANES are also being seen on the
island. The CLARK COLLEGE RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER is still being seen in
Vancouver. On March 5 a SAY?S PHOEBE was at Steigerwald NWR near Washougal.
The MUTE SWAN is still being seen there. On march 4 a SAY?S PHOEBE was at
Fern Ridge Reservoir. Another was at Alton-Baker Park in Eugene. On March 6
a GOSHAWK was reported from Eugene.
