I walked the Interurban Trail today, from Auburn to Kent. There was a lot of activity near Emerald Downs. I saw my first Swallows of the year along this section, I counted 9 Tree Swallows. There were about 19 Northern Pintails, along with American Wigeons, Green-winged Teals, a couple of Ring-necked Ducks and lots of Mallards. Two shorebirds were Long-billed Dowitchers. All of these in the wetland on the west side of the trail and Emerald Downs. I also found a Northern Harrier and a Fox Sparrow.

I am going to keep an eye out in case the Black Phoebe returns to Mill Creek.
