Subject: [Tweeters] Ravens in So Seattle?

On two occasions last week I heard what I thought were Raven calls in Seward Park. They were mingled in with the usual crow calls, but lower, more resonant, less "caww" and more "quoraa". I was unable to see the bird(s) on either occasion, but it seemed that the crows were responding to the "quoraa" call in a mobbing way.

Yesterday I heard the "quorra" call from my front yard, looked up and saw a large crow-like bird flying over my neighbor's house. However, it appeared larger than a crow, and had the big head, hunchy shoulders and wedge-shaped tail of a Raven. I just don't know... I've never seen a Raven in the city. I don't expect to see Ravens here. Has anyone else see/heard Ravens here recently?

thanks,
Catherine Alexander
