Today was wowsome at Pt. Defiance.
Topping it off was a spectacular viewing of at least 25 Red Crossbills on the trail that parallels the 5 mile drive. About 9 of these were gathered around a cavity in an Alder tree, drinking and or eating something from this. Some Crossbills seemed to be feeding others. They are such striking looking birds. This tree was just south of the the viewing area that looks north from Pt. Defiance. If I had had a camera I would have had a very nice picture.

At the pond I found a Eurasian Widgeon among about 200 American Widgeons.

At noon when the cold weather was moving through, a lone Turkey Vulture passed through heading East.
