My husband and I drove along the Hood Canal from
Belfair to Hoodsport today. Just after Potlatch State
Park we came across a single Common Loon and male and
female Red-breasted Mergansers. Here are the pictures:

Of course, it wouldn't be a trip for me, without some
unidentifiable small waders:

The Mergansers and Loon were LIFERS for me, so it was
worth getting soaked. :)
