My wife and I saw a hooded merganser (male) very near the observation decks around 6:45 Friday night.

It was a very nice morning at Juanita Bay Park today. The biggest highlight was a male Red-breasted Merganser, a first for the park. It was fairly far out in the lake but was present all morning and is probably still there. Other nice birds include great views of both Red-breasted Sapsucker and Hutton's Vireo, plus a few Pine Siskins. The gulls included the adult Western that has been there several months at least, and an adult California Gull.
