Hi,
For those who are interested the female has been faithfully sitting on the nest, and the male is busy bringing branches, and standing guard. It is very quiet now, except for when the crows come and harass the male; and then the pair are very noisy early in the morning.
Also a large number of Anna's and my first Rufous this morning. I also still have the ever faithful female Douglas Squirrel hanging out in the nest box.
The Pileated pair aren't around as much as before, the city continues to be sneaky in cutting little bits of fir trees, and I do think this is having an affect. Maybe also why the squirrel is here so much of the time.
The Hairies are busy, and Flickers, and Sapsuckers, as well as the regulars. That is all.
