Hello All,
I have always wondered why some of the LBBGs located here along the eastern pacific coast and on up along the Columbia River into the Columbia Basin are not Heuglin's/Vega Gulls coming out of Asia? Are we so sure that all of the pronounced LBBGs are that species? Do we really know? The more I read the larger my doubts grow. See Beaman & Madge's book entitled" The Handbook of Bird Identification for Europe and the Western Palearctic". This is an outstanding tome on the gulls of our region as well.
