I forgot to post that last week I took a short trip to the coast and while driving through Grayland (Gray's Harbor County) I spotted the NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD. As I sat in the car watching the bird, it began to sing. Up walked a gentlemen who I took to be a local resident. He told me that the bird had been there for 5 years. He also said that the bird had begun singing on that day ( 3/15/07). In addition, he believed that the bird was spending the winters in the bog.

The location is in Grayland, along Hwy 105, just north of the Pacific County Line. From the Beachcomer Grocery continue a very short distance south to Jado Place on the right. The bird has been seen along this short street.
