Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday March 22. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

The Eugene FALCATED DUCK continues to be seen. The GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE
remains at Lakeside, north of Coos Bay. The Meares Lake TUFTED DUCK is still
being seen. The BROWN THRASHER along Lorane Hwy at Fox Hollow Rd. was seen
again March 21.

OSPREY are now at their nesting sites. ORANGE-CROWNED and YELLOW-RUMPED
WARBLERS are now increasing. On March 17 a BARN SWALLOW was at the North
Spit of Coos Bay. A ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW was at Brookings March 16, and a
CLIFF SWALLOW near Canby March 18.

The Port Orford TREE SPARROW continues to be seen. On March 18 eight CASPIAN
TERNS were at Tillamook Bay. A GLAUCOUS GULL was at Seaside March 17.

On March 21 a MOCKINGBIRD was in the Orchards area of Vancouver. The Clark
College RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER is still being seen. The NORTHERN SHRIKE at the
Sandy River Delta continues. On March 18 a CASPIAN TERN was along the
Columbia River at Lyle, WA.

On March 15 a male PINE GROSBEAK was seen again in NW Portland. An unusually
plumaged brownish NORTHERN SHRIKE is now being seen at the intersection of
Croeni and Westmark Roads north of Hillsboro. On March 14 a YELLOW-HEADED
BLACKBIRD was at Ankeny NWR.

Five PINE GROSBEAKS were seen March 17 at Todd Lake, southwest of Bend. An
early SWAINSON?S HAWK was seen March 16 in Langell Valley east of Klamath
Falls. A BRANT was at Lower Klamath NWR March 17.
