Denny,

Did you mean to say "Lesser Black Backed Gulls are supposed to have YELLOW legs" ?

Hi Tweeters,

I was looking at the photos I took last Sunday of the Lesser
Black-backed Gull at Lake Lenore. Several of the photos in which is
it flying show it having pink legs. Lesser Black-backed Gulls are
supposed to have pink legs. One new photo in now in the new photos
folder on my website. I had to really crop and enlarge the photo so
it is not of very good quality.

Other possibilities for this gull's identification that are seen
regularly in the Northwest are Western Gull or Slaty-backed
Gull. They are both the same size as a Herring Gull. My photos show
the gull in quesiton in flight with a Herring Gull. The Herring Gull
is noticeably larger.

Have fun with this one.
