Just took a quick drive down Wenzel Slough Rd., starting at Vance Creek county park, the male and female pair of Redheads are still on Pond #1 (easternmost) with about 6 Lesser Scaup and one Pied-billed Grebe.
At the western end of Wenzel Slough Rd., I found lots of Canada and Cackling Geese milling around in the soon to be flooded fields. With them were a surprise of 8 Snow Geese! I've only seen singles here before so I was happy to see so many! Also, here I tallied 4 swans out in the fields which means either the rest are hiding (doubtful) or on their way north. There was a nice sized group of gulls here too, mainly consisting of Ring-billed Gulls.
And its still raining!
