I checked the Goodrich pond and walked the trail this morning. The pond
is just over 50% full and will probably start drying up now. There was 1
Eurasian Wigeon in the midst of about 75 American Wigeons, 2 Northern
Shovelers, 3 Green-winged Teal, and lots of Buffleheads. Shorebirds were
almost nil. A handful of Killdeer, 1 Greater Yellowlegs, and 1 Dunlin
were all that was seen. Raptors continue to be the same, 2 Red-tailed
Hawks, 1 American Kestrel, 3 Bald Eagles, and 2 Northern Harriers. Along
the trail were, 2 Red-breasted Sapsuckers, 1 Ring-necked Pheasant, 1
Rufous Hummingbird, 2 Brown Creepers, 75+ American Robins, lots of House
Finches with 1 yellow variant, and 15+ Golden-crowned Sparrows. To the
skies, there were lots of swallows, mostly Tree with a few Violet-green
in the mix, and 6 Turkey Vultures.
Two Scrub Jays were seen along Harrison Ave. on the way to the pond.
