This weekend I made a trip over to the Yakima area, a spent some time birding throughout Kittitas County on the way over and back. One of the high points was seeing that the OSPREY nest in Cle Elum along I-90 is once again occupied. Most of my time in Kittitas County was spent birding the Old Vantage Highway and the Umtanum Road. Highlights of my trip included:

SAGE SPARROW - Old Vantage Hwy MP 19

CHUCKAR - Old Vantage Hwy MP 23

LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE - Old Vantage Hwy MP 23

VESPER SPARROW - Many singing on Umtanum Road near Durr Road

NORTHERN SHRIKE - Umtanum Road

ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK - Umtanum Road

PYGMY NUTHATCH - Ellensburg Pass (Yakima County)

TURKEY VULTURE - Cle Elum
