Today we went up to Snoqualmie Falls to check on the Peregrine Falcons.

The female was sitting on four eggs. She only flew off twice to meet the male over the river as he transferred a plucked bird to her. She got up and rolled the eggs often then sat back down.

Dave T. came up to check on the Falcons and said that he will be surprised if the first egg hatches. He said it was out in the cold and rain several days before she finished laying and finally began to incubate the eggs.

Last year the pair laid four eggs and only three hatched. All three fledged.

The wind was gusting pretty good at the Falls today. Taking pictures was a challenge but here are a few of the female and the eggs. Sorry about the quality.

She laid the first egg on March 16 so the fourth egg was probably laid on the March 23. The first chick could hatch about April 23-26.
