Hello Tweets,

This past Sunday while enjoying a nice day birding at the Nisqually NWR we experience interaction between 2 Tree Swallows along McAllister Creek. We first watched as both birds dropped into the water from a descent from the air,as they continued fighting near a series of pilings. Both birds were very noisy,as they stayed afloat fighting each other in the water and eventually drifted toward the shoreline. This interaction was only about 3 minutes, but was quite spectacular to witness since we had never seen this behavior between 2 Tree Swallows before. The behavior was perhaps a territorial interaction between 2 adult males and both birds once arriving to the shoreline quickly flew off in separate directions.

We obtained several photos of the Tree Swallow interaction, which can be accessed at the following link: http://www.pbase.com/godwit/tree_swallow_photos/

In addition we have placed 3 photos onto our website of the 2 Barnacle Geese photographed today along Brady Loop Rd. by Tim O'Brien. Whatever the origin of the 2 birds it a great sighting, especially for Grays Harbor Co.! Tim's photos can be accessed at the following link: http://www.pbase.com/godwit/recent_photos/

Sincerely,
