Here are directions to Green River Community College. You might also check out their website.

Take Hwy. 18 east to the exit called ?304th Street/312th Street.?
At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn right.
Stay on that road as it winds around for a mile or two.
At the second stoplight, you will be at 124th Ave. There is a fire station on the corner. Turn left onto 124th.
This will dead-end at the college.
At the dead-end, turn right. Go a few blocks until you see the entrance to the parking lot on your left. It will have a big wooden sign saying Holman Library entrance. Turn in there; drive straight ahead until the road curves to the right in Parking Lot B; curve with it, to the right. Follow this narrow little path to the back of the college and park where you come out, at the trail head.

There is an extensive trail system along the south side of the College, and you can spend a good part of the day hiking on all of them. There are signs with maps posted along the upper trails. One trail actually goes all the way down to the Green River. There are some wild trails as well. My advice is to come ready to explore. You can also be rewarded with a gorgeous view of Mt. Rainier at the Hwy 18 overlook.

Elk have been present all throughout the winter, what a surprise! The forestry professor told me the photos have been taken, and that at least three Elk are present.

I think that the Pygmy Owls move around quite a bit and don't tend to stay with one perch, at least from what I have noticed. I have had good luck with Turkey Vultures, and Ravens in this place. Bald Eagles don't surprise me anymore.
