Subject: [Tweeters] Nisqually PM, Western Kingbird

I did a quick walk around Nisqually yesterday after work. I tried to slip
in between rain storms but no such luck. It seemed like the unsettled
weather brought numerous migrants though. The area was teeming with
warblers on the move. The vast majority were Yellow-rumps (Myrtle and
Audubons) and Orange Crowned. Wilsons, and Yellow were in the groups as
well. There may well have been others but there were too many to see them
all and they seemed to be moving quickly through and across the river.
There were also very large numbers of swalllows (all of the regulars) and I
counted 30 Cinnamon Teal. There were 100 or so Brant along the outer dike.
Shorebird numbers seemed low to me.

The most unusual bird was a single WESTERN KINGBIRD. It was seen about 1/4
to 1/2 mile beyond (north of) the photo blind, inside the dike along
MaAllister Creek.

Cheers and good birding,
Bill Shelmerdine
