We are rapidly approaching festival season in the Puget Sound which
means that it is time to get the 7th Annual Backyard Wildlife Festival
on your calendars! It*s a FREE, family friendly event that educates and
inspires people from throughout the Puget Sound to welcome wildlife -
such as birds, butterflies, and other wildlife - into their backyards,
workplaces, schools and other community spaces. The event hosts a
variety of activities and educational opportunities on how to attract
and support wildlife through sustainable gardening and landscaping
practices.



Speakers include: Patty Glick, National Wildlife Federation Climate
Change Specialist, presents her latest report "Gardener's Guide to
Global Warming; Russell Link, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife
Urban Biologist, presents "Living with Wildlife"; and Sasha Shaw, King
County Noxious Weed Board Educator, presents " Neighborhood Bullies, the
good the bad and the ugly".



Event highlights include: Procession of the Species Costume Parade,
Certified Backyard Habitat Garden Tour, bird walk with local Audubon
Society expert birder, arts and crafts vendors and more. Plenty of
children's activities!



Education participants include; National Wildlife Federation, King
Conservation District, REI, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife,
Seattle Urban Nature, King County Noxious Weed Board, Seattle Audubon,
Rainier Audubon, NW Trek, King County Master Composters, Friends of the
Cedar River Watershed and many more!
