Subject: [Tweeters] A junco gets in my face

So there is a junco nest in a tuft of ornamental grass along my front
walkway. Today I decided to get a photo of the young so I took a stick,
parted the grass and began to setup the focus to get the picture. One of the
adults flew in front of me, chipping furiously and totally distracting me
from my task. Then I felt a bump on my back and the other adult had actually
flew into me! I decided with all this excitement to bail on the photo and
went inside. About 10 minutes later I came out to walk over to a neighbors
house and both adults followed me for many feet, chipping away, no doubt
taunting me to just try and mess with our nest again. I returned more than
two hours later and got the same treatment as I walked up the path. I guess
I am now branded as Junco enemy for life. They will probably teach their
children about the big, hairy green monkey that tried to get them when they
were little.
