Yeah, right!
The problem is that Barreds don?t use the habitat in the exact same way
that Northern Spotted Owls do. Evidence shows BA. Owls are hammering not
just No. Spotted Owls but also Western Screech Owls, Red-legged Frogs, and
other species that haven?t had time to adapt to this new predator. Which
species can we do without in order to save every Barred?
Can anyone say for certain that our forest practices haven?t helped the
Barreds expand their range? If we?ve helped the one, then why can?t we help
Spotted? All the biologists are trying to do is give No. Spotted Owls a
little breathing room until the long term solution of regenerating old
growth forests is accomplished by The Nature Conservancy, et al.
I don?t beleive our discussion matters a whole bunch. If you think the
agencies involved ?give a hoot? about our talking points on Tweeters then I
have a section of old growth forest in the middle of Olympic National park
to sell you!!
