Was up in the Evergreen Arboretum ( in Legion Park at the very north tip of the Everett 'peninsula') yesterday morning and saw a nice bright Bullocks Oriole, singing loud and long! A special treat in these parts. Also saw a few Wilsons Warblers and heard both Orange-crown's and Yellow-rumps singing.
This park attracts a fair share of birds at all season's. Being at the 'end' of Everett on the north probably helps funnel migrants and the site has about the only considerable stand of Doug Firs in north Everett , which attracts many birds ( including a pair of nesting bald eagles.). I live nearby in less favorable habitat and am always surprised at how many more birds types are there. So if you're in Everett check it out. An overlook allows a great look over the mouth of the Snohomish and the the large Osprey colony there. Caspian Terns and Purple Martins all summer. Anna's Hummingbirds are attracted to all the flower garden's in the Arboretum also.

Happy Trails
Jeff Gibson, Everett.
