I would like to add to Scott, Bill's and Wayne's comments on
WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCHES in Clark County. Along with their being found
in Oregon White Oak and Oregon White Ash forests they also utilize pure
stands of cottonwoods on Lady Island in Camas and at the Steigerwald Lake
NWR in Washougal. The birds at Steigerwald are nesting in cottonwoods
that within view of the Washington Department of Natural Resources
Washougal Oaks Natural Area, the largest remaining stand of oaks in
western Washington.
