I took a short walk up through Des Moines Creek Park today at 11am. On a
back trail near a little spring I heard a couple of Black-headed Grosbeaks
calling and singing. There were two Wilson's Warblers in the woods. One
was trying to sing, and the other was calling a soft check, check. I also
heard some loudly calling California Quail up in the closed-off buyout area
above 18th St. I haven't heard those around here for years.
