Hi! Did you hear that Russian and American developers are planning to build
the world's longest railway tunnel under the Bering Strait, to link Siberia
with Alaska? At 64 miles, it would be twice as long as the Euro tunnel,
which runs under the English Channel. If we can easily get to the Kanchatka
Peninsula, will that have any effect on our search for Siberian birds for our U.S.
lists? Sort of like the Texas/Mexico border where we could possibly entice
a Mexican species to cross the Rio Grande so we can count it on a U.S. life
list . . .
