Hi all,
Bathing in Butyl Creek today was a single Chipping Sparrow, a bird which hadn't seen before in the yard in 21 years.
Of course, there could be detection-bias going on, since Butyl Creek has only been around about a year, and it does seem to pull in what's around. Here's today's list of bathers:
1 Hermit Thrush
2 Savannah Sparrow
3 Chipping Sparrow
4 Song Sparrow
5 House Finch
6 American Goldfinch
7 Orange-crowned Warbler (many)
8 Wilson's Warbler
9 Warbling Vireo (they don't bathe like other songbirds, but like a Belted Kingfisher catching a fish)
10. House Sparrow
11 Anna's Hummingbird
12 Ruby-crowned Kinglet
13 Yellow-rumped Warbler
14 American Robin
15 Bushtit
16 Black-capped Chickadee
Thanks all, ednewbold1 at yahoo.com residential Beacon Hill Seattle
