Percentage of sky covered by clouds: 80%

The following birds were seen by Wayne Weber from
about 3:00 to 8:00 PM on May 5, 2007 at Point Roberts,
Whatcom County, WA.

A steady breeze from the W, shifting later to the S,
limited visibility of birds on the ocean, and helped to keep landbird
activity down.

Of note was a HOUSE WREN, which sang persistently but
was glimpsed only briefly in the shrubbery opposire
591 Marine Drive (a short distance N of Lighthouse
Marine Park). This is a very rare bird at Point
Roberts-- only my second sighting in 40 years of
frequent birding there. (My first record was in 2005).

Two EASTERN COTTONTAILS ran across the road in
opposite directions, at the same time, next to the
cemetery on APA Road, and both narrowly missed
being run over!
