Got up to go to work this morning. Noticed a lot of extra noise around the feeders (I usually leave at 6:00am, but this was more like 7:45am this morning). Within moments, I located two new calls for the yard, and spotted both birds (close enough I didn't need my binoculars). Although I only needed the auditory signals for both, I first got visual confirmation in the hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) tree the feeders are in: Wilson's Warbler (Wilsonia pusilla).

I went around the front of the house, and bouncing around from tree to tree (not gonna name 'em all) was a more unexpected bird: Warbling Vireo (Vireo gilvus). I had expected to get a couple of warblers, but the vireo was one I didn't really expect in this part of the city.

So with the Western Tanagers (Piranga ludoviciana) that have been per-der-lerping all week in the maple and cherry trees out back, I had 3 new yardbirds for the week. Less than three months in the new place, and already 38 species! I may break the U-District record, unless someone else jumps in. Fun stuff.
