Hello All,

I began at 6:00 am this morning at the Peone Wetland and was blessed to find
14 Black Necked Stilts feeding on the north shore (my first ever for the
wetland). Joining the stilts were 6 Wilson's Phalaropes, 1 Least Sandpiper,
1 Long Billed Dowitcher, 2 Spotted Sandpipers, Greater Yelowlegs, numerous
Soras, Virginia Rails, and a couple of American Bitterns.

Riverside Park at Seven Mile yielded Gray Flycatchers, White Throated
Swifts, and both Canyon and Rock Wrens.

On my way out to Sprague, there was a Mule Deer and a cow Elk along I-90.

The Sprague STP was alive with 25 American Avocets, Long Billed Dowitcher,
50 Wilson's Phalaropes, 2 RED NECKED PHALAROPES, and a MARBLED GODWIT (a
Lincoln County lifer for me).

Sprague Lake itself produced Black and Forster's Terns (both Lincoln and
Adams County) and on the Lincoln County end, there was also a pair of Red
Necked Grebes, and 1 WHITE FACED IBIS. The Ibis circled in from above a
promptly landed in the high cattail marsh just to west of Lincoln county
boat launch ramp and disappeared into the marsh.

The Davenport Cemetery was fair with many Townsend's and Yellow Rumped
Warblers (one Myrtle race), 2 Western Tanagers, many Hermit Thrushes, and a
Dusky Flycatcher.

The Reardan Ponds held two nice breeding plumaged FRANKILIN GULLS and Horned
Grebes to close out the day.

And, by the way, I also spent some time in P O County yesterday with my son,
Joshua. Many nice birds, but the highlights were a yodeling Common Loon on
Big Meadow Lake, 2 pairs of AM THREE TOED WOODPECKERS up Rocky Creek Rd
(between 2.2 - 3 mi north of Hgwy 20), another pair of THREE TOED just
west of Nile Lake.

Blessings,

Terry Little
