Sunday, April 29, 5:47 PM. Hello, this is Darlene Meyer, 509-754-4866,
Ephrata. There are
EURASIAN COLLERED DOVES in at least 2 area in Ephrata. A trio has been seen
and heard
south of the high school off the street in the area of B Street NW for
weeks. At least 3 are in
the area southwest of the court house with 2 heard calling and a pair seen
regularly at feeding
areas in the first block of E Street SW. Good luck and good birding.

Sunday, April 29, 6:38 PM. Hi, this is Charlie Wright. I was just watching
a BLACK-NECKED
STILT in the Kent Valley. I found it at kind of a precarious place along
212th Street, just west of
Frager Road. There is a lot of construction in that area. It is just south
of 212th and there is a
brand new wetlands in there that's pretty good, loaded with shorebirds. So
eh. Well, good luck.

We are out on
our Thursday morning walk at Marymoor and we have 2 SAGE THRASHERS here.
They are on
the north side of the soccer fields just west of the road that goes back in
toward the interpretive
trail. They are working their way along the edge. So, anybody comes out
here, good birding.

Tuesday, May 8, 10:28 AM. Hi, My name is Patsy Burgess. I'm calling from
Huelands Elementary
School at 10525 3rd Avenue NW, Seattle, WA. I wanted to report that a
KILLDEER pair that nested
since the end of Spring Break, sometime like mid-March, from March 9th to
March 16th, successfully hatched all 4 of their eggs yesterday, and all 4 of
the hatchlings are running around our playfield at our elementary school today,
well they were yesterday. And I just wanted to report that. The number at
our school is 206-252-4390.

Tuesday, May 8, 11:11 AM. Hello, this is Kraig Kemper, reporting for
Tuesday, May 8th. In a phone
call from Marv Breece, I relocated an AMERICAN AVOCET at the M Street pond
in Kent. This bird
can be reached by going south on 167 and taking the 15 South exit, taking a
left, east, over 167 and
taking the second left which would put you onto M Street. The bird was
foraging on the edge of the
marsh pond in front of the Emerald Downs building looking east from M
Street. My phone number is

Thursday, May 10, 1:51 PM. Hi, this is Tom Aversa calling. Birding today
at Discovery Park there
was a WESTERN KINGBIRD in the south meadow. Also, a HOUSE WREN in sort of
the edge of
the south meadow where the trail comes up from the beach to the top of the
bluff and where it
intersects the loop trail. There's sort of a wire cage and the HOUSE WREN
was in that area, wire
cage and some stairs that go down. Migrants around but surprisingly, I
didn't detect WESTEN TANAGERS at all. Thanks.

Thursday, May 10, 7:18 PM. Hi, this is Greg Toffic in Everett. This
afternoon my brother Jeffery
found a couple of YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS in North Creek Park, our
Snohomish County
Park, just south of Mill Creek. He and I looked for them a little bit later
and, after some searching,
found 6 birds altogether, apparently all females, at the north end of this
park. To reach the park from
Mill Creek at 164th St turn south on Route 9, not route 9 but 9th Avenue,
Sorry, 9th Avenue, a short distance till its end and park there. To the west
there is an abandon farm and the birds were feeding
on horse manure in that area. Jeff also saw them earlier flying over, or I
guess in, the cattails a little
bit south of this. In addition to these blackbirds there were a number of
shorebirds in a fairly new impoundment just to the west of the boardwalk trail
at the north end of this park.

received a message
from Randy Hill. He is at Corfu Road in southern Grant County. He has an
adult BLACK-TAILED
GULL foraging with a large number of RING-BILLED GULLS in a cultivated
cornfield. Thanks.

Saturday, May 12, 8:03 PM. Hi, this is Tim O'Brien. I just viewed the ACORN
WOODPECKER at
the corner of Elma Gate Road East and Blockhouse Road just south of
Oakville. It was still present
at the same location that Ruth and Patrick Sullivan reported on Tweeters.
It is about 7:45 PM right

Sunday, May 13, 7:54 AM. Good morning. This is Brian Bell, 425-485-8058.
The ACORN
WOODPECKER, which was found by the Sullivans yesterday was seen this morning
at 7:25 by me
at the same general location, the intersection of Elma Gate Road and
Blockhouse Road, east of
Oakville. The bird flew in from the Northeast side of Blockhouse Road, flew
across, perched in a doug
fir tree for about 3 minutes, then flew back and perched on a telephone pole
right on the intersection.
It then flew back into a section of oaks between Elma Gate and Blockhouse.
The bird is moving around considerably. If you come down, good birding.
