It's one of those "wild" easterns that have been established in the area around Tenino, the Vail Tree Farm, Johnson's Creek Road, etc. Rainier is quite close to places I've seen them. Johnson's Creek Road is probably the most reliable place to see turkeys in Thurston County.

Hi Tweets,

A friend of mine gave me a turkey tail feather, that much I can tell. But it has a bronze iridescent stripe about an inch from the top. Do wild turkeys have the lovely bronze on their tails? I have never seen a wild turkey up close and personal, but have see bronze domestic turkeys. The feather was found in Rainier up a hill after dogs had killed it. Only feathers left. There are wild turkeys (planted) in Tenino (just down the road) that I have seen.

I can scan it if anyone wants to take a look at it. It is a work of art.

Thanks in advance.
