Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

A YELLOW-BILLED LOON was off Cape Arago May 13. A GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was
on the North Spit of Coos Bay May 14. On May 10 a TUFTED DUCK was at
Hatfield Lake near Bend. Another TUFTED DUCK was at the Nehalem Sewage Ponds
May 13.

A heavy migratory wave passed through Oregon during the week. Especially
noticeable were RED-NECKED PHALAROPES, WHIMBRELS, BONAPARTE?S GULLS, and
large numbers of warblers.

On May 14 a flock of 18 WHITE-FACED IBIS flew over New River, south of
Bandon. On May 16 three YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS were there. Also on May 16
at least 148 BLACK SWIFTS flew northward over New River. On May 12 a ROCK
WREN was at Bullard?s Beach State Park near Bandon. A SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER
was at Yaquina Bay May 12.

On May 11 three EARED GREBES and two BLACK-NECKED STILTS were at Ridgefield
NWR. The next day a WHITE-FACED IBIS was there. On May 13 a BLACK-THROATED
SPARROW visited a feeder in the Hazel Dell section of Vancouver. An AMERICAN
GOLDEN-PLOVER was on Sauvie Island May 12. A SWAINSON?S HAWK was seen May 14
flying over southwest Portland. On May 13 a PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was at
Farmer Road, east of Baskett Slough NWR. A ROCK WREN was in Corvallis May
15. On May 11 three AVOCETS were at Fern Ridge Reservoir. A BLACK-THROATED
SPARROW was in the Rogue Valley at White City May 15.

Birders at Malheur NWR Headquarters during the week reported a COMMON
GRACKLE, NORTHERN PARULA, WORM-EATING WARBLER, and a MAGNOLIA WARBLER. On
May 12 a probable BLACK-CHINNED SPARROW was singing along Harney Road, west
of Hwy 205. A COMMON GRACKLE was at Fields May 16.
