Question on hummingbird nestsThis thread reminded me that several years ago I got it in my head to make a "natural" hummer feeder and see if the birds in our yard would use it. Meaning that I hoped to drill a few holes in a piece of birch or some other hardwood, fill them with the standard sugar solution, and hang it in the yard. Never found the suitable log however. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I might find an appropriate log? (without raiding a state park please)
thanks,
