Had a WESTERN KINGBIRD right in downtown Marysville Saturday, May 19, at
about 2:30 pm. The bird flew west right over Cedar Avenue, just north of
4th Street, very close to Cedar Field/the 10th Street School. This seemed a
somewhat unlikely spot although there is open ground (the baseball field).
Then yesterday, May 20, we had a very cooperative DUSKY FLYCATCHER down low
in a Scouler's willow at the lawn's edge in n. Lake Stevens, just after
first light. The bird was very actively feeding and calling, giving the
soft "whit" note, for a good half hour. We've now recorded this species
about 5-6 times on passage here, mostlyt May 10-25.
