Tweeters,

I observed the Ruff between 12-12:30 this afternoon at Schwarz Lake at
Ridgefield NWR in Clark County, WA. This lake is across the tour loop
road (East side of the road) from the southern end of Rest Lake. Best way
to look for the Ruff is to look for the neon bright orange legs on the mud
on the far side of the lake (especially near the small willowy tree on the
other side of the lake). Also in the area are two Spotted Sandpipers (my
first for Ridgefield NWR - seen yesterday as well), one White-faced Ibis (on
the lake/pond immediately before the parking area for the blind), and a
group of four Purple Martins hawking insects overhead. Finally, two
exquisite alternate plumaged Eared Grebes were on Rest Lake immediately
across from the Ruff. Great place to do a Big Sit!
