Well, how did I miss everyone that was at Ridgefield today? I did two loops of the River "S" Unit in car and also walked the Kiwa trail. I spotted the White-faced Ibis on my first loop and posted it on the board. Life bird for me. I'm glad at least one was still around. I heard Purple Martins overhead mainly while I was on the west side of the loop. The female Ruff was present for both of my loops. I last viewed it at about 5:30pm. It was associating with 3 Long-billed Dowitchers. Also, saw about 4 Spotted Sandpipers near the Ruff the first time around. I did briefly catch a quick view of a White-breasted Nuthatch flying from a tree in the part of the loop that goes through the oak trees. Also, on the Kiwa trail I believe I saw one enter a nest hole, but it was really quick so I couldn't be totally sure.
