Hey tweets, One appeal of birding to me is that you get such a wild
combination of the expected with the surpise. I've been expecting
BLUE-WINGED TEAL at the Fill now for a couple of days, and finally today a
pair showed up on Shoveler Pond. Ah, the world works as I expected it
would. But then on the same pond were a CINNAMON TEAL and two male
GREEN-WINGED TEAL. So a three-teal pond. A thrice-told teal tale to
tweeters. Sorry.

Also on view today:
COMMON MERGANSERS (a pair)
RING-NECKED DUCK
LESSER SCAUP
Western Wood-pewees
Yellow warbler
lots of Wilson's
Warbling Vireo

Altogether: 42 species. A great day. - Connie, Seattle
