Hi Tweets,

After seeing Linda Phillips' post yesterday regarding the fledgling dippers
at Wallace Swamp Creek Park, my wife and I decided to take a trip over there
this morning. We were not disappointed. For over 30 minutes we watched the
little birds explore and forage along the banks and in the waters of Swamp
Creek. Occasionally, their parents dropped by to check on them. I have
posted a few photos of the fledglings on my website at:
http://www.goatislandimages.com/photogalleries.htm. They can be found in
the "Passerines I" gallery.

Species sighted this morning included:

Chest-nut Backed Chickadee

Black-capped Chickadee

Mallard

Spotted Sandpiper

Spotted Towhee

American Robin

American Crow

American Dipper

Anna's Hummingbird

Red-tailed Hawk

Red-breasted Sapsucker

Song Sparrow

White-crowned Sparrow

Flycatcher (undifferentiated due to brevity of sighting)

We likely would have seen many more, but we were completely mesmerized by
the "dipper dance" :o).
