Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Wednesday May 23. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

A TENNESSEE WARBLER was seen May 20 in Milwaukie. A WHITE-WINGED DOVE was
seen during the week at Cape Blanco. An INDIGO BUNTING was seen May 19 at
Paulina. That day an AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER was at Little Houston Lake near
Powell Butte.

A heavy nocturnal movement of SWAINSON?S THRUSHES was reported over Eugene
May 18 and 19. WILLOW FLYCATCHERS are now moving into the state. Early
NIGHTHAWKS were reported from Malheur NWR May 19 and Bend May 22. On May
18 BLACK SWIFTS were reported from Cascade Head and Mid-town Portland. On
May 20 there were seen at Hillsboro and Fern Ridge Reservoir. On May 22 over
200 BLACK SWIFTS were over New River and 144 were over the North Spit of
Coos Bay.

On May 16 a PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was on the North Spit of Coos Bay. A flock
of 21 WHITE-FACED IBIS was at Ridgefield NWR May 19, one may have been a
GLOSSY IBIS. The next day at WHIMBREL was at Ridgefield NWR, and on May 21 a
RUFF was seen there. Two AVOCETS are now at Fern Ridge Reservoir.

On May 20 a colony of over 250 TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS was found near the
Oregon/Washington border northeast of Umapine. Birders at Malheur NWR
Headquarters during the week reported a MAGNOLIA WARBLER, GREAT-TAILED
GRACKLE, and PLUMBEOUS VIREO. On May 20 a YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO was at
Fields.
