We had some success deflecting the robins by rubbing a bar of soap on the
window to break up the reflection. Shaving cream probably would work too.
After the robin left I could hose off the window. I had tried a number of
solutions like a large picture of an owl, a beach ball that had a giant eye (these
look great when several are strategically placed in a Christmas tree), and
tinsel. Soap seemed to do the trick.
