Two hearings will be held next week on the recovery plan. It appears that the current administration wants to log old-growth spotted owl habitat because it now thinks that the barred owl is the reason for the spotted owl's decline. Barred owls weren't even a factor in the area when the spotted owl ESA listing determination was made. Get out and attend one of these meetings. You don't have to testify, but a show of support for keeping old-growth is important. The hearing times and dates are:
