Tweeters,

Its been a rather slow week but there were a few highlights (# is year yard
bird):

A few Swainson's Thrushes (#94) flying over early every morning,
A Spotted Sandpiper (#95) at the pond Thursday morning.
Saturday morning (today):
Swainson's Thrush 2
Yellow Warbler 1
Lazuli Bunting 1
White-crowned Sparrow 1
Western Tanager 1
Warbling Vireo 1
Brewer's Blackbird 2 (#96) - only the second sighting for the yard.
Red Crossbill (fly-bys) 20
Evening Grosbeak (fly-bys) 4
Turkey Vulture (fly-bys) 2

Yesterday, an adult Cooper's Hawk caught the immature male Black-headed
Grosbeak. Rather gruesome but that's nature sometimes. The BHGR flock is
down to five. The Evening Grosbeaks are now gone from the feeders.

Get Out There and Bird!
