Got in this afternoon after a birding trip through central WA to find the local listers talking about a WHITE FACED IBIS last spotted on Thursday. Am happy to report that it can still be seen easily from the shoulder of the Slater Rd (off I-5 between Bellingham and Ferndale), about 1/4 mile past the Casino. The bird is working a flooded field on the south side of the road and is dazzling. No yellowlegs or phalaropes there this evening, but the ibis is certainly worth the jaunt.
